Ultra-matt and assertively coloured, Poppy King's lipsticks are the closest thing to indelible on the market. Already in business for four of her 23 years, this young Australian's lipsticks are now an eight million dollar business. Poppy develops the colours she sees in her 'mind's eye' by combing art supply stores until she finds the exact clour to bring to her chemist. She claims to be 'obsessed by colour' and is currently planning an entire spectrum of just pinks. She has also created a complete range of eye products entitled Vision, in earthy tones of rich browns and smoky charcoals, and will soon be bringing out a bold range of 'wild' lingerie that promises to be for women rather than against them. Poppy feels that women can be 'in control through colour' and makes sure that they know it. Her lipsticks are a colourful and emotional boost: besides reds with names like Anger, Ambition, Lust, Courage and Glamour, she has also developed ranges called The Seven Virtues and The Seven Deadly Sins, Innocence and Venus. Forget insipid names like 'pink parfait' or 'rose red' - it is eminently satisfying to look at oneself in the morning mirror while supplying a perfect coat of Glory knowing that it will survive several hours of business meetings virtually unscathed.
